The Hut.

Here's where we stayed last night. A little hut on Keenan's Uncle's property. Its awesome, it's hooked up with tv and movies and what not. We watched Adventureland.

This is Ivan! He's Andrew's seven month old puppy, and he's HUGE! He wanted to jump on the bed all night but we were consistant in kicking him off. He's a great dog though.

And, here's the monster Ivan didn't save us from. This is a huge spider we found when we first walked in hanging on the roof. Keenan ended up squishing it with a dvd..

Streetbikes!

So I let the boys go on the streetbikes this morning first so Keenan could get the feel for it. Here's the boys taking of down Andrew's driveway.

Here's them before they left. The yellow bike is a 250, and the red one is a 1000. They had fun with a capital F, as Keenan's aunt Sandra describes it. But seriously it is way to much fun.

Here's us just before going out for the second ride. I think it's definitly somethinig I could get into. And oddly, a relaxing way to travel I would say.

So here's me with my bumper head, Keenan and his Uncle Andrew. His Uncle used to race years ago, but he's still super into bikes. It was an incredible experience!

Dirtbikes!

So we stayed out at Keenan's Uncle Andrew's last night and went dirtbiking. I was pretty stoked because it was my first time on one. And I'm finally learning how to shift somewhat properly and not revving the crap out of the thing.

And I accedently ended up dumping the bike in the driveway by accident when I was trying to turn it around. It was a good time though. I just burned around on the little 100 and Keenan and his cousins ripped around on a 250. It was a good time.

Rib Fest, Geulph

So this is our first rib fest, what it is basically is a bunch of people show up, eat some award winning ribs, go watch the band playing, take there kids on all the carnival rides, and drink a lot of beer. Here's some of the stands they had there. There was actually a smog growing from all the smoke from the grills.

Here's one of the stands "trophy cart" that sits outside there stand. We didn't try any, we had just had dinner before showing up but if we were to have some I think it might have been from this stand. I mean I'm just saying, the ribs have to be good.

Here's what you see if you look up from the trophy cart and up to the counter. The whole atmosphere seemed to have a western feel to it. With people selling every color of cowboy hat and giant sized belt buckles. The only thing we ended up getting is three pairs of sunglasses, for twenty bucks. uh, Deal?!

Here's the band that was playing for the night, though you can hardly see.. The Cramden's! (I believe they were called..) And if that weren't enough to celebrate for, It was Sleeman Brewery Day! Sleeman Draft & Light were your only choice of beer for the night. Not my favourite, but it wasn't bad.

And here's what happen's when we try to take a nice picture of us together. And there were many after this even that all have Keenan making faces. So I suppose here's the "nicest" picture of us at Rib Fest. Also, Though it's pretty late, were almost finished our movie on British Columbia.I know I probobly say that every post.

Mike's Pond

So at the moment were staying with Keenan's family where they live right on these man made lakes that they get stocked with fish to keep the lake clean. Yesterday morning I walked outside and onto the deck's dock and caught a three pound bass. Anyways, this is Mike's pond. Mike is a long time family friend, and he too has man made lake, but only in his yard, and it is filled with rainbow trout, that think they are piranas.(spelling?)

Here's what happens when you throw in a handfull of food. They go crazy for it. They all start jumping and fighting for the food. I guess if your fishing for them, you catch one every cast, and some of them are not that small. I couldn't believe it when I saw this for the first time.

Niagra Falls

Sorry for the lack of posts recently. The camera we were using broke, and so now we finally got a new one. These pictures were taken with a film camera. So in this picture were actually on the "maid of the mist" which is one of those huge boats that takes you right down to where the falls crash in.

And here is the view of the falls from the boat. I ran out of film however for when we went to the hard rock cafe just after this. Which is absolutly awesome. Probobly my new favourite place to eat. We also went to the Coca-Cola store and had the old vanilla coke, and the Hershey's store where they had a five pound chocolate bar, for about fifty bucks. I was tempted to buy one and send it back home.

And here's the constant rainbow in the mist from the falls. Even if you don't go on the maid of the mist, theres mist blowing everywhere, and even if your just walking around on the walk way, you still get drenched. We really enjoyed Niagra Falls

Manitoba

So we had just woke up in Shoal Lake bright and ready for the long drive to Kenora, Ontario. Shoal Lake was actually a pretty nice place, and we were camped right on the lake. Though the lake wasn't really much to look at.

For some reason this picture doesn't want to rotate so bear with us. This is how clean the van was at the time. That load of wood there we bought in Prince Rupurt, and lasted us all the way to Ontario. Not bad.

Winnipeg was really hectic and hard to drive through. It was super busy and backed up. We would be following traffic and then all the sudden it would stop and we would be stuck in the middle of an intersection with people trying to squeeze by us.

So far Winnipeg was our most difficult driving venture. Hopefully from here on out it'll be smooth sailing. We stayed in Kenora for today as well just because it's such a nice place. Keenan bought a new skateboard and tested it out in local skatepark. I bought a coat and tested it out in the campground. Tomorrow were heading to Guelph Ontario to visit some of Keenan's family.

Elk

Here's Keenan getting the shot of an elk on the side of the road. Tonnes of people of were pulled over and jumping out of their vehicles to take a look. Including us but at a safer distance. And some people would park right in front of it, get out, and be three feet away from it..

This elk was HUGE. This could have been the cover of a hunting magazine. We think he was just loosing the velvet off of his antlers. That or he was murdering something. Or someone. I mean, would you jump out of your vehicle and pet this big guy?

He wasn't bothered by anything. He was just happy to be eatting on the side of the road. Even with people jumping out of there vehicles to take his picture and be touching distance away from him.

Saskatchewan

We stayed the night in North Battleford where my grandma grew up, and then it turned out also to be her 65th birthday the next morning. We also woke up to a bunch of prarie dogs watching us cook breakfast. We only stayed one night in Saskatchewan however and then made it all the way to Manitoba the next day.

As you can see, flat, flat, flat. I don't think we really minded driving the rest of the way to Manitoba that much, I think we were just glad to get out of there. Lots of little towns there seem to be stuck in an era. Lots of old rusted out vehicles along the way..

Here is the only "hills" we could find our entire journey.. And it sort of looks like we were following the same truck the entire way.. We pretty much passed the time with bubblegum blowing compitions and driving games.

Vegreville, Saskatchewan

So here is the biggest Ukranian Easter egg in the World. Located in Vegreville, Saskatchewan. I didn't realize until we were there for a while that it actually slowly rotates. So this was pretty much the highlight of Saskatchewan...

National Diesel Drag Races

Hello everyone, we've been in Edmonton for the weekend. We spent Saturday at the National Diesel Drag Races at the airport raceway and spent today (Sunday) at the waterpark at the West Edmonton Mall. No pictures of that however seeing as how we were both blasting down waterslides all day. This first picture is from the burnout compition that they had partway through the races.

This picture doesn't do this car justice. When you hear this car burning down the track your jaw instantly drops. When we post clips of it later, your jaw too will also drop in awe.

Were thinking of selling the Volkswagen in Newfoundland and buying one of these. I wouldn't mind doing a few burnouts in this. I'm sure Keenan wouldn't have a problem with that either.

Make a wish had three little boys at the races and one of them got to ride in this car. This car had so much power that when it started along the track the front wheels left the ground. That kid got the ride of a lifetime.

And last but not least Keenan and I getting our sunburn on in the stands. Were staying with Ty and Brittney for the weekend and Ty's Uncle had a diesel in one of the races, so we got invited back to his trailer and got to check out the truck, that actually has a roll cage.

Oh And By The Way..

Keenan's been airbrushing custum designed shirts to sell along the way. So far we've got about seven of them up for sale. They go for about twenty five bucks each.

Here we have Keenan airbrushing one of his recent shirts. We stole the neighbours picnic table and drug it over. suckers.

And Keenan modeling the finished product with the page one logo.

What Were Listening To:

The first two songs are what I've been listening to and the last two are what Keenan's been listening to. Though we don't get these in the van..

Vanderhoof to Mc Bride

So today we had quite a few problems with the van. Had to stop along the way quite a few times to troubleshoot.. and photoshoot. I just want to take a little moment here to point out the new dress and boots. hubba hubba.

Keenan's pointing out our nos... joke. But seriously today was a long day on the road. Especially to not get very far. We think we might stay in Mcbride for tommorow as well and do some laundry and try and get some movies up on here.

When we got to Vanderhoof mum and jack took us out for dinner and dessert and hooked us up with a few things we were missing. i.e. the classic canopener. We were pretty tired. Got a lot of travelling in that day.

Prince Rupert to Houston

Here's a picture taken right before we left.. Were both excited and ready for the big ol trip. Everything's all packed up and ready to go.

This was taken downtown Prince Rupert. We saw this van and purposly parked beside it. Volkswagen throughout the years.. (Though we both agree ours is much cooler.)

We took this in Cow Bay in Prince Rupert. I like how the van contrasts with the building, and Cow Bay in general. I think everyone at least once has to explore it. But if you do, make sure your pockets are full of cash.

Caught this 30 pound salmon with our bare hands in the skeena. Actually a guy caught this on a gaff hook and told us to come down where he was and let us hold it up. They were pulling fish like these out of the water every five minutes and he also said that ealier that day his buddy pulled out a 105lb salmon.

This last one here, we were at a rest stop along the way and ground was moving with these little frogs. And they were floating down the river, but it was too hard to catch that on camera.

It's Go Time.

So the vans painted, were just quickly getting everything together now, soon to post some pictures of the van. But seeing as how there are none of those yet, here is a picture from Ksaan Bay..
